Alina Veska Morren (born December 4, 2002, in Ljubljana, Slovenia) plays one of the flatter baseline games on the circuit. Her best wins usually come when she can take the ball early, attack through the middle, and prevent opponents from creating height or angles — a style that earned her the nickname “The Ljubljana Linebreaker” during her junior years at the Ljubljana Precision Tennis Center.
Alina turned professional in 2020 after two seasons with the hard-court performance squad at the Danube Performance Institute in Vienna, where she competed for Danube Arches Tennis and studied Human Performance and Data Methods. That analytical background still shapes her preparation: her team charts contact-point depth and rally length for every match, and her game plan almost always starts with the same instruction — step in first.
Now based in Vienna, Alina works with coach Petra Maric Vale and fitness coach Anja Rellan. Together they have built her into a fixture of the ISTC top 20: world No. 19 in singles, a career-high No. 16 in January 2026, and two ISTC hard-court titles — the Asteria Sapphire 250 in 2022 and the Glasscourt Meridian Open in 2024. In 2026 she added a runner-up finish at the Northglass Indoor Classic, her deepest indoor run to date.
Intense, focused, and famously fast-starting, Alina is at her best on outdoor hard courts, where the true bounce rewards her early timing. High-bouncing clay remains the surface that asks the most questions of her flat game — and the one her team says she is most determined to answer.
